Direct Work with Young People
· Advice and information on drugs, drug misuse and services.
· Group sessions to address drug education needs, drug use/ misuse and its associated problems.
· Referral to generic or other specialist young people’s services.
These services can be provided in a range of locations and settings across Cambridgeshire.
School Work
· Designing and delivering drug education programmes and lessons, participating in school conference days.
· Supporting schools to implement the school’s and community drug policies.
· Using School Based Health Clinics to provide students access to our services.
Specialist Education Provision
· Designing and delivering drug education programmes and lessons in school inclusion units and pupil referral units
· Support staff in delivery of PSHE and addressing individual young people’s needs
· Supporting schools to implement the school’s and community drug policies
Community Provision
· Design and deliver drug education sessions in youth clubs and community groups such as church groups, guides and scouts
· Participate in youth clubs, young carers groups and specialist housing provision sessions
Consultancy
· Support professionals working 1: 1 with young people offering specific guidance on screening, assessment and risks of substance misuse in Cambridgeshire
· Provide resources and information on drugs, support on managing drugs related issues for all those working with young people.
· Participate in Local Substance Misuse updates.
Training
• Deliver training to young peoples workers as part of the Supporting Professionals Project
• Design and deliver agency specific training to teams and community groups involved with young people in Cambridgeshire.
